Boo! Were you surprised? I’m alive and writing down something. I, myself, can’t believe it! A few moments ago I had no plans to writing something but something made me do it - and I promise to detail it later. First, let me plug this huge event before going to my personal life.
Okay, word up! The first ever WordCamp Philippines 2008 will be on September 6, 2008, a Saturday. The event will be held in College of St. Benilde (Taft Avenue, Manila). As of the moment, the WordCamp will have the following components: Deployment (Usage) Track, Development Track, Panel Discussions, WP Install-Fest and After Party! What I love about this WordCamp, it’ll be a perfect opportunity to meet the other bloggers I’ve been chatting over at Plurk. We ought to thank Mindanao Bloggers and of course, our beloved sponsors for this event:
July 06, 2008. It was a Sunday and I was in Araneta, cheering for the Alma Mater a jeepney away from my house. Yes, it finally came true, I have watched the DLSU vs. AdMU live! In so much desperation, I never cared if I bought 5 General Admission tickets from a scalper. Okay, I know Araneta sells such tickets on the day itself but I can never tell if they’ll go out of stock, y’know! So there, I have watched it with Rogene (the farthest left), Camille, and JP (the guy beside me). It was really a good fight since both teams is either tied or a point behind each other. In the end, Ateneo won the glory. Good job!
Then, the I AM VAIO contest was a success! I’m sure a lot of you already saw the photos in Multiply. Thank you for the wonderful comments there. Anyway, the 911 is, I didn’t won. Of course, I wanted to win (who wouldn’t?) but I’m not sad about it. I was even happy. I’m very thankful to the Sony I AM VAIO Team for choosing me as a finalist because if it wasn’t for them, I probably never met such nice friends. I’m also thankful for you guys, my online buddies; to my blockmates; to my co-Loonies; to my officemates; and to other people whom I don’t know who were asked to vote and did vote. I owe a million thank you to everyone! I do apologize though that somehow, I have let you down for not winning anything. One of my reasons of wanting to win is because I don’t want your votes to be in vain, so I am sorry about that. However, please do e-mail me your name and address so I can personally write a thank you note to you. I am serious.
Most of all, I am thankful to the Lord. Without Him, I will never be chosen or be up there on the stage. He made a dream of mine come true in the most unexpected way. He also gave me what I was asking for. Sony gave all finalist a digital camera on the night itself and I was so much in glee because it’s exactly what I wanted! This was taken by Caloy using his dSLR. A black Sony W110 with 7.2 Megapixels. Wee!
Because of the event, most of us wanted to keep in touch through Multiply. Primarily because of the photos since a few brought their digital cameras during rehearsals. Not to mention, the invited friends of the other finalist took a lot of photos! The best photos were from Deiter’s friend, Anne Olvido. According to her, she’s a wannabe photography but she’s good! The photo of me above is a post-processed photo from her. Cool, huh? I simply lovette it!
Anyway, going back to what I was saying.. Some of us went Multiply searching and one of them was Chesca Sumilang. Gosh, she is so nice that I wish I had more time to bond with her. Anyway, she posted this video in her Multiply account and I cried in the end. Probably you will too! The title is My Redeemer Lives by Team Hoyt. Go and watch noooooow, especially if you love God!
Something Random:
Okay, enough of something related to Sony and the contest. Let us shift our gears! Gears, speaking of gears.. Hmm, I am finally getting a hang of it in driving! Yay! It’s really an achievement and I already went to LTO last Wednesday to convert my student permit to a non-pro license but it seems that they want me to go to Tayuman for that! I was really disappointed because Wednesday was only my free time since I’m most of the time busy. So there, mom said she’ll accompany me next time I get my license. Mom wanted to drive alone as soon as possible since oil price hike increased. So there! What can we do to help our country from poverty?
I still have a lot of things to say but the entry might turn out boring in the end. So I’ll stop for a while. I will only write down now what made me decide to update my blog for the longest time… It’s about Twilight, the movie. The movie is supposed to be released on December 12, while there is a possibility that it may be January 8, 2008 for the Philippines due to the Metro Manila Film Festival. The idea is already making me sad, so I still have my fingers crossed… The craziest idea happened though, I called Ayala Cinemas a few hours ago to confirm the possible released date. The nice lady told me that AS OF JULY, it’ll might be on Febuary 4, 2009. I asked her again, just to make sure I have heard her correctly. This is not final according to the lady but it’s sad if it’ll happen. I plan to call Shangri-La Cineplex tomorrow to make sure and I think we need to make a campaign for this. HELP!

That’s one sexy looking red camera. I love Sony so much and it’s one of my favorite gadget brands plus thanks to them I have my Sony PSP and Sony Playstation2. Congrats sa Ateneo though I really not into those games di ko nga rin sila pinapanood pero congrats parin sa ADMU. Congrats din for being a finalist.
